Chapters & Contact Persons

IAIM is represented in many countries around the world in one of two ways:

(1) A "Chapter" is a legal entity established and registered in a country as a "Not for Profit" organisation which respects IAIM's policies. A chapter is where certified infant massage instructors (CIMIs) in that country have grouped themselves together. The person representing the Chapter internationally is referred to as the "Chapter Representative". They need to be present at the General Assembly. Chapters have boards, most of the time elected by the chapter's members, and are responsible for supporting the growth and development of the association in their country and supporting the instructors with newsletters, warehouses with resources for instructors, and regular meetings. There may be only one Chapter per country, unless there is more than one officially recognised language in that country.

(2) In a country which does not yet have such a legal entity, there is a qualified IAIM Instructor (CIMI) promoting IAIM and infant massage there. This person may be joining with others to establish a Chapter, and meantime is know as the "Contact Person".

Chapter Representatives & Contact Persons are responsible for bringing information from the Certified Instructors (CIMIs) in their country to the International Board and vice-versa. They are also responsible for bringing information from the International Board and its newsletter to their CIMIs.
