IAIM Testimonials
From individuals in our associations who started the journey to create an IAIM chapter in their country
The journey of the Slovak Chapter
”I was working for an international auditing company and I started to be depressed about the office work. With my colleague Jenka, we have been dreaming about new jobs. One night when she was searching on the internet, she noticed the advertisement for the IAIM training in Slovakia. Immediately she was attracted and she registered for the training that night. Next day I registered too, it was May 2008.
The first Instructor training in Slovakia was organised by Lenka R-B., a Slovak woman trained in Ireland by Kirsty Hawthorn. All of the students have been impressed by the training and by the mission of IAIM.
The training was very transformative. It completely changed our lives and touched our hearts. Every two years we organized for IAIM trainers to come to Slovakia train instructors. We were fortunate to be with international trainers Kirsty Hawthorn (Ireland), Helen Moses (USA) and Sylvie Hétu (Canada).
In the meantime, we both quit the jobs and started working as Instructors. At the beginning there was not much awareness about infant massage in our country, so word of mouth marketing was the most effective. The happy mothers were recommending the course to their friends and relatives.
We established website to advertise the courses for parents and to inform about infant massage. We have been active on Facebook and we wrote many articles to magazines for parents. Our work as instructors helped us enhance the interest of parents as well as new students for the Instructor Trainings.
We are committed to be part of IAIM family.. one baby at a time, one instructor at a time..little by little we are getting there. Joining IAIM is a true human adventure!”
