FINDING A LOCAL CLASS

Certified

First of all make certain the instructor is IAIM certified.

These certificates are released only and exclusively by IAIM. Please check “Find a Trainer” page under “Become a Trainer” Or check “Steps to become a Trainer” to be one.

4 Days Training

This earned title means the instructor completed a 4-day training and passed both a written exam and practicum. This also attests that the instructor has gained the appropriate experience needed to teach parents and has adopted the IAIM ethos.

5 Weeks minimum

Look for a course that is attended for 5 weeks minimum. Infant Massage is best learned over several weeks so that new experiences and information are introduced gradually and incorporated naturally, to endure as a family tradition.

AT HOME EACH WEEK

  • Prepare your comfortable spot (warm, safe, quiet)
  • Get relaxed!
  • Repeat the strokes you learned during class : follow your baby’s cues so you can accustom your baby to receive touch with gentle pressure and movement, relax more deeply and release tension as needed.    This also reinforces your learning curve and helps you feel like the pro for your baby!
