Your IAIM Instructor Journey – From Training to Certification

IAIM Instructor – Steps to Certification & Course Details

Certified Infant Massage Instructors (C.I.M.I.s) are individuals who have attended the IAIM Instructor Training Course with a certified IAIM International Trainer and have successfully completed the certification process. Currently, IAIM has trained over 100,000 instructors around the world, and this number is rapidly increasing.

To become a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, you need to:

  • Attend the four-day (five-day if translated) practical training led by an IAIM International Trainer.
  • Complete the take-home, open-book assignment and the required reading.
  • Successfully complete a hands-on practicum: teaching five families how to massage their babies.

Please note: There may be regions where teaching infant massage is restricted. Please verify whether any such limitations apply within your country.

All instructors around the world must respect IAIM policies in order to remain a Certified Infant Massage Instructor and an active member of their local IAIM Chapter.

The IAIM Manual

The IAIM Manual for Infant Massage Instructors, commonly known as the IAIM Manual, represents a collaborative effort between Vimala McClure, the visionary founder of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM), and the IAIM Circle of Trainers.

It is a compilation of their collective wisdom and extensive expertise as devoted Infant Massage Instructors. This comprehensive publication contains all the important concepts taught in the four-day Instructor Certification Program delivered by our International Trainers.

The IAIM Manual offers in-depth information on our core curriculum points, such as Benefits, Bonding and Attachment, Infant Cues, Reflexes and Behavioral States, Special Situations, and Teaching and Facilitation Skills. It also includes many excerpts by our founder, Vimala McClure, detailing why and how this program was designed.

Additionally, it covers the practical components of designing and teaching a parent class, and provides the necessary handouts for parents.

The Instructor Manual is an integral part of our Instructor Certification Training and is not available to the general public. It can only be used by Certified Infant Massage Instructors to support their work as an IAIM Instructor.

Please note that IAIM is the exclusive owner of the intellectual property rights to this publication, and it is fully protected by copyright laws.
