Respecting Babies, Supporting Families
OUR MISSION
The purpose of the International Association of Infant Massage is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community.
Why Choose Us?
At IAIM, we strongly believe that touch is crucial for building bonds between parents and babies, and massage is one of the tools our instructors use during the course to support babies worldwide. Our conviction is backed by research that has explored the various benefits of baby massage.
All IAIM instructors have taken the same training around the world and uphold the same standards and values of the IAIM.
Instructors teach only parents and designated guardian-caregivers to ensure their bond and baby’s secure attachment are strengthened and to acknowledge the parent as the expert of their baby.
The IAIM program is baby centred, and the massage is baby led.
Baby’s needs and cues determine the flow and focus of parent’s and instructor’s attention.
IAIM courses provide a safe environment in which exchange of ideas among parents is encouraged and fosters supportive social networks among families.
Our courses are at least 5 weeks long, and cover practical teaching, theory topics and discussion allowing parents and baby to absorb various aspects of infant massage.
